The problem, made visible

His hearing aids make everything loud.
He needs one voice.

These are the sound waves reaching our founder's grandfather on a Thursday evening — all amplified equally by his hearing aids. Tap the voice that matters, and watch the others fall silent.

Loud

Every wave at full strength, all at once — that's what today's hearing aids deliver.

Why it matters

The problem isn't volume.
It's choosing a voice.

For people with sensorineural hearing loss — including age-related presbycusis — the defining struggle is speech-in-noise perception: the cocktail party problem. Devices that amplify everything don't solve it, so people stop wearing them.

How it works

Your eyes choose. Zahear isolates.

You look at them the camera ring follows your attention You hear only them their voice is isolated in under 10 ms
1

Look

A camera ring in the corner of the frame reads your attention — head direction, eye contact — and the speaker's lip movements. Analysed on the frame, never stored.

2

Lock

The on-frame AI locks onto that person's voice and filters the sound from concealed microphones — on the glasses themselves, in under 10 milliseconds.

3

Listen

Their voice arrives clear through open-ear speakers; the room fades to a murmur. Glance at someone new, and Zahear follows.

Two problems, one pair

Your glasses. Your hearing. One object.

Vision

Fitted with your prescription

Zahear frames take your Rx lenses — or plano (zero-power) lenses if your eyes are fine. If you already wear glasses, this isn't an extra device. It's the pair you needed anyway.

Hearing

Attention-steered voice isolation

Look, lock, listen. All audio is processed on the frame — nothing routed through your phone, nothing recorded, nothing uploaded. The app handles setup and personalisation only.

Our story
zahear
ظهير · Zaheer · “ally, supporter”

Zahear is named for our founder's grandfather, Zaheer. He owns hearing aids and barely wears them — in any gathering they turn every voice into one wall of sound. So he takes them out. And slowly, he stops joining.

His name means ally in Arabic. The word hear was hiding inside it all along. We're building Zahear so he — and 430 million people like him — never have to leave the conversation.
